ie6 - Error: no such interface supported

When I try to click on a "javascript window.open" link
in order to open a new window
using internet explorer 6.0 I get this javascript error..

Error: No such interface supported

I have reinstalled ie6 but this has made no difference.
Note: I have VisualStudio.net 2003 and IIS installed if
this could possibly be a factor.

Can anyone please help?
