IE6 Error message

I often get the follwoing message when I exit IE6 "The
instruction at "0x01e53740" referenced memory"
at "oxo1e53740". The meory could not be "Read". Any clues
what this means?

Also, I attempted to download the Service Pack 1 for IE6
several times, but each time it was not succesful because
it could not downlaod some components. I had turmned off
my virus protection. Any answers here?
