When I have multiple internet explorer windows open and I
try to close one, I get an error message saying that
there was an error and needs to close "Send Error report."
Once I close that window, all of my internet explorer
windows close.

Yep... that's what it does when the Dialog box you've described appears.

Open an ms-dos prompt window (Start>Run>) and type the following (one entry
at a time), and press enter after each line. A message will appear stating
that these have been registered successfully.

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Also, you might wish to check for spyware.

How to make a good newsgroup post:

I have the same problem, I did everthing that Brian said to do, plus to
spyware scans with diffrent programs and I still get the same error report
after I close a Internet explorer window.

Thank you, I read your reply to Lucky Strike, in particular the advice to
remove the AOL Toolbar. That resolved my own (shdocvw.dll) problem which was
the same as that reported by Misty. I have since passed this on as the
solution seems to resolve a good many shdocvw.dll related problems. I note
also the user account solution. I had this advice given by Microsoft on
another matter. I had not thought to try it on this occasion, but the villain
of the piece seems to be related to the AOl Toolbar. I would like to know
why mind>
