IE6 does not like some sites

When my DELL Latitude C800 with W2K SP4 goes into the
docking station on LAN behind SBS 4.5, IE6 gives me
the "The page cannot be displayed" page with the
dreaded "Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet
Explorer " message.

The interesting thing is that this happens for the domain
www.microsoft.com. All other sites are accessible with no
problem.

When I get the laptop on another network from any of its
NIC connectors all is fine!!

Any ideas?

Thank you greatly for any responses

Hi John,
Did you ever get a reply for this? I'm quite suddenly
getting a similar problem with my PC, but with
www.geocities.com sites. This happened quite suddenly a
weeks or so ago. I presume a file somewhere has gone
missing/got corrupted. But what and where is the question?
Regards

Symtom: Page cannot be displayed / Cannot find server or DNS Error

In the event you can not access a site and you believe it
may be due to an entry in the HOSTS file.

You can use a simple batch file to rename the HOSTS file "on-the-fly".
