Hi,

I have a wireless laptop (incl. VPN) with XP SP2 and Internet Explorer 6 SP2
installed.
I open a VPN tunnel over our WLAN and want to surf "wireless" via our
proxy.

As proxy I use ISA2000 Sp1 running on Win2000 SP4

My problem is :
IE6 cann't connect to the Internet or ISA, no passwort-prompting, no
error-message
The ISA Server doesn't log anything, so it seems that the laptop (IE6)
doesnt connect to ISA at all.
(I can ping the ISA:... so I have an IP-connect..)

But: If I use Netscape 7.2 instead of IE6 everything works fine, Netscpape
prompts me for User and Password and that's it...

As far as I know Netscape 7.2 does not use Basic-Authentification - it uses
NTLM (as IE6 is supposted do do...)
So I wonder why I can surf via ISA200 using Netscape browser - but not with
IE6 ?

And: If I dont use WLAN\VPN but a wired connecttion - then it works with
IE6, too

So what can be the problem with the combination of WLAN\VPN + ISA + IE6 ?
(And why does it work with a Netscape-Browser ?)

thank you

whatz the diffence in posting seperatly to each *relevat* newsgroup - or
doing a crosspost ?
what for has each newsreader the feature of crossposting ?

maybe you'd better stop teaching people how to use the free net ?

VPN is a Dialup Technology. Each Dialup Connectiod has its own independent
"proxy settings". The normal "LAN" proxy settings are *not* used when a VPN
is active,....therefore,...did you include the proxy settings in the
individual Dialup Connection Settings? The are found in the IE's Option
under the Connections Tab which is the same general area of the LAN proxy
settings.

Some of the groups are German spoken and don't want any other language
cross-traffic or any non-group-related cross-traffic. And just because a
group has "ie" or "isa" in the name doesn't mean it's "relevant" or that
the follow-ups will be "relevant".
what for has each newsreader the feature of crossposting ?

For using it with sense and followup2. Since I don't know which group you
read I can't even do a later followup2.

What is that? Actually, you need much more teaching than I can give you.

EOT, good night.
