Hi,
First of all many thanks to Mike Burgess for reply to last
request re: Smartpops. I'm new to this forum and cannot
work out how to relocate the thread or I would have
expressed my gratitude there. The Spybot download you
guided me to is advanced by my standards but I am working
through it slowly (and surely). Only problem which has
occured since starting to 'Search and Destroy' is that I
can no longer restart or shutdown from the Start bar. I
have to do it via: ctrl/alt/del. Have I done something
obviously wrong, is this a common problem? I'm sure I can
rectify this as I have not removed anything except obvious
unsolicited junk.
But thanks again to MB. Regards to all, ph

Just an update. The above problem seems to have cured
itself (!), although it does take considerably longer to
shut down/restart, than it used to. Spybot seems to be
finding alot of stuff in the system, although ie6 still
crashes (less frequent)with error report (always sent but
no new replies) and Error page 404 still hijacks some
sites, too.
Regards to all, ph

Run Spybot again with the new definition table.

If still no joy then look for new variant of some parasite.
