A few days ago, IE6 cannot connect to any web site. As well, Outlook Express
downloads emails, but will not download the email graphics when requested.
Problems started after computer suddenly powered off. Here's more info:

1) Firefox connects without a problem.
2) I am running with XP Pro SP3.
3) I have tried "netsh winsock reset" to no effect.
4) Disabled my AVG firewall temporarily, no luck. I've scanned for viruses
and rootkits, AVG reports disks are clean.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

HTH,

It may be a settings issue.
The first thing I do is check Tools-Internet Options-Connections
tab-LAN Settings and ensure "Use a proxy server...." is not checked.
(Mine resets occasionally, particularly after a power break or reset)

....Alan

Thanks for your help, that fixed the problem!

Thanks for your suggestions. The problem was that the "Yse Proxy" button was
somehow reset after the power off.
