When I click on Tools, Internet Options and try to delete Temporary Internet
files, IE closes after the message "Error: Internet Explorer has encountered
an error and needs to close".

After searching for a resolution, I found it pertains to browser extensions
(add-ons) but in Manage add-ons, I do not know which add-ons displayed should
be "disabled" to resolve this issue.

Disable all Non MS Add-ons and go to the Adbvanced Tab and uncheck the
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions and Reboot your computer then
try to reproduce the Scenario and see if it will occur again, if not then try
to Enable the Add-Ons one-by-one and try to reproduce the scenario on each
Add-Ons you Enable and see what the culprit Program/Add-Ons will be.
Again did you scan for malwares and Viruses and Run Disk Clean up.
HTH.

I followed the steps you suggested, disabling add-ons except Microsoft
related. However, I still cannot delete Temporary Internet files via IE6
Internet Options.

I am actually using MSN Explorer routinely since switching to high speed
broadband via Qwest DSL. However, I did not want to get away from using IE6.
I noted the error message I had received when trying to delete Temp Internet
files in IE6 was related to add-ons, according to the error detail level.

So I am at a loss for trying to resolve the issue.
