IE6 browser slow to show pictures, sometimes not at all!?

MY IE6 started acting up and ive run out of options other
than dumping it and reinstalling it. When going to wen
pages usually only half the web pages are showing up.
some pictures show up, and it seems like the page
freezes, and it says dowloading pictures.jpg ETC but they
never download, then when i go to refresh, it usually
reloads less pictures than it showed initially. Can
anyone help?

Im using windows XP if u need to know

how bout a new browser. at mozilla.org the browser
called firefox .popup killer,can download an ad blocker,
less chance of hijackers.
