IE6 browser - page not displayed

Hi there
I was hoping someone else may have had this problem. Since I have installed
SP4 and the other critical updates recommended by the Microsoft site I have
been having trouble with my browser and OE not recognising that I am online.
This means that every time I try to access a web page I get the page not
displayed message and I am unable to connect my email program as well. This
does not happen straight away but after a few hours of normal trouble free
browsing. I have contacted my ISP who inform me that from their end I am
shown as online. I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance, Chris

Oh I forgot, am running Windows 2000 Professional.

Use ipconfig /all to see if you still have DNS addresses.
Use nslookup to test them.

Is this broadband? Try to renew the lease with
ipconfig /renew
or
ipconfig /registerdns

Apparently there may be a different procedure for this
if a router is involved:

Thanks I have now printed out that and if I keep getting the same problem
I'll be trying it out.
