How can I clear an unsavory web address from my auto-complete/dropdown menu.
I have cleared all temp files and auto complete forms and passwords, yet an
unsavory site that my brother visited still appears when you type in the
first letter of the site. I don't want my kids to inadvertently see this. How
can I remove? It seeems to be the only one left other than installed
programs. Could it be write protected? I would graetly appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Laker

See if this helps:

"How to Delete the Contents of the Temporary Internet Files Folder".

Try also...
CCleaner, from http://www.ccleaner.com/
And Free History Eraser:

The History folder can be deleted manually:

If still no joy...

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.

I had already cleared all temp and history files. I am also runnning
Windows Defender Beta and SpyBotSD TeaTimer as active protection and
regularly scan with AdAware too. No flags from any of them. I downloaded and
ran HijackThis, but didn't see anything unwanted in the logfile. I'll post
log to spywareinfo.com

I assume this unwanted address has to be stored as a link somewhere. Can't
I just remove manually? Where would it be that it didn't get erased with all
the other temp addresses?

Thanks again,

Have you tried Free History Eraser?
