hello,

i run a BB service using PHPBB. AOL users, using the default AOL browser
are having problems with using the PHP-based forum software. It was
recommended by a PHPBB member that the user install a different browser.

Can a person simply download IE6 from Microsoft (they're on a Dell PC),
install it, and it will automatically work with AOL, or are there some
tech-tricks to get them compabible?

thanks for any guidelines on AOL - external browser compatibility with
IE6...

If they're using Dell PCs, Windows is installed > Windows by default gives
the user Internet Explorer > Tell them to log-on to (connect using) AOL but
click on the blue e icon on desktop to open IE and access your forum.

If AOL is configured as the default browser, however, clicking on links
anywhere (e.g., in an email) will use the AOL browser. User must reset IE
as the default. (WinXP: Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Set Program
Access and Defaults > Browser).
