IE6: any answers from Microsoft?

It looks like a lot of people are having similar problems
with IE6, as I am ("IE has encountered a problem and needs
to close...")but MS will not answer. I spent a couple of
hours trying the self-support pages, got referred to my
computer manufacturer, who also will not help without a
fee. And the MS site won't even give a phone # without my
answering a lot of questions first and being advised that
it's gonna cost me.
Sorry I can't add anything to this newsgroup--needed to
vent. Are there truly MS professionals monitoring these
groups, as stated on the site?

Yes. They are unpaid volunteers and you can see their answers if you click
on the +.

By the way your problem has been answered many many times. For example, H
Leboeuf has answered the same question several times this morning.

Catherine,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

It does seem that if MS spent as much effort answering
questions as it does in avoiding answering questions, we'd
all be happier consumers.
