My sister is using YAHOO for her mail but when opening IE6 it is VERY SLOW.
Any suggestions. I have already cleaned out and ran virus and ad-aware
software but still slow. If I use another site you reallly see the
difference in the speed.

Assuming that your sister has dialup access, I am not sure how to speed it
up. The Yahoo! sites use a lot of JavaScript, rely on cookies, and just
generally do a lot of busy things which can even slow it up with broadband.
I don't see the Yahoo! site take as long to load as before I got DSL, but
is still lags, when compared to the speed that other sites load.

Nancy,
1. In addition what Norman has stated, Yahoo has changed some settings for YahooMail. I don't know if that these changes, might be causing problems with the web base interface. They seem to be causing problems with some individuals trying to access their Y!Mail by using the Y!Pops program.

Those who use !YPops versions 6.x to 7.3 should upgrade to Y!Pops ver.7.4, found at:
http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/

Also YahooPops ver.4.6 seems to work with the changes that were made with Y!Mail.

2. Also it appears in the last month or so, they have completely overhauled their website, and may be going through some growing pains.

SHe does have DSL. I was wondering if I should call them to see if it is the
modem. It is very noticably slower then the other sites.

You could also check to see if there is a problem with the MTU size.
As well as causing occasional errors the incorrect size could cause
performance problems.

Serendipity: the same search has brought up a very informative
