IE6 and download links with SP2

Paul

Using IE6, i click on a link to download music, the
download starts but the page also changes and then
says "page not available", this has only started since i
upgraded XP Pro with SP"

with SP1 all that happened was the download started but
the page never changed!!!!

anyone got any ideas on how to stop this as it is also
annoying when i'm building my webpages with download
links!!!!

Thanks for those links but i feel that i may have misled
you slightly in what is happening.

When i click on a music file to download, it will
download fully, but instead of staying on the download
page as it did with SP1, it now loads up a new page with
the address being the one that the link uses, here is an
example..
http://www.djgemstone.co.uk/assets/applets/wafm.zip

as you can see this is a zip file, it does download, but
also goes to a page with the same address!!!!

I believe that's now default security behaviour in SP2, Paul (we're all
learning its Ins and Outs). Whenever I update virus definitions, be it
manually or automatically, the AV manufacter's homepage will appear in IE
(hint: but not if I use FTP instead of HTTP to get it).
