Hoping one of you knowledgable people can help.
Although it's not specifically a XP config question,
I have a tiny webcam server puching some controls
via a "web page", locally, on 192.168.0.1 port 83
If I enter > 192.168.0.1:83 it appears that the autocomplete (?)
function of IE6 does not either complete or connect. Either way,
I get a "page not found". But if I http://192.168.0.1:83, it will connect
and display properly. It seems that the act of " :83 " is sufficient to
confuse the poor beast. As an aside, if I set the server port to a
"standard" 80, just typing in the 192.168.0.1 for the address allows
"standard" completion ( http://192.168.0.1/)
This behaviour does not occur in Mozilla, Firefox or Opera because
an entered "192.168.0.1: 83" will find the page - no hassles.
Is there an article or guide for me to follow this up ?
Thanks.
