IE6 add-ons

I cannot view any adobe acrobat files on IE6 because the add-on for it is
disabled. I use windows xp pro. When I go to enable it, I can't because it
is greyed out and says only the administrator can do so.
So I log in as the administrator and I enable the Adobe Acrobat add-on. I
go back to my original login but still cannot view adobe acrobat files. The
enable/disable button is still greyed out and says the administrator manages
this add-on. But when I go back as administrator the add-on is enabled and
running well.
I thought I had fixed this problem but apparently it's not so. I have
already ran a virus scan and it is not a virus. Could someone let me know
how to fix it. Really appreciate it. Thanks.

Sounds like you're dealing with a profile specific setting...since the
administrator account and your user account are separate accounts, doing
something in one doesn't impact the other.

So, you could add the second account as a power user or administrator as a
work around.

You could try opening acrobat reader PREFERENCES and checking enable DISPLAY
PDF IN BROWSER....

I'm a little fuzzy on where you're looking at the disable/enable button?

My original login was and is part of the administrators group. So I should
be able to enable/disable without resorting as the administrator. The
enable/disable function is displayed when you press the "manage add-ons"
button from the "programs" tab of the "IE options" dialog box. I tried
changing the display from the Adobe acrobat reader's internet settings box
but unfortunately that still gave the same greyed out function. The add-on I
want to try to enable is Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX. I hope this
helps. Thank you.
