IE6&7 do not stay logged into Secure Sites?

I have had an issue with IE6 and IE7 where I cannot remain logged into a
secure site. I can log in, but on many sites, when I click the button I am
presented with the login again. I think it has something to do with the
session timeout.

I installed Firefox and it works correctly?

I checked to make sure I allow cookies. I also tested by adjusting my
security to the lowest setting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE a
number of times. I am at a complete loss on why this occurs for IE6 and IE7.

I suspect some registry setting is corrupt but am not sure. I have run the
Registry Clean tool and it did not identify anything that seems related.

I would appreciate any comments on how this can be resolved.

Regards,

Robert

Any error messages? Check /all/ of your account settings. Comcast has made
some changes and not been very open about it.

How do I set up/configure Outlook Express for Comcast email?

Tip: Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it could be causing the problem, and even Symantec
says it's not necessary:

<QP>
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

Thanks PA Bear,

I never ran the Registry Cleaner to actually change my registry, just to
check and see what it found. I was having the problem before this and only
ran it to see if it detected any issues. To the point of these articles, it
was pretty useless.

I am at a loss as to why my IE installation cannot retain any session
parameters? I am hoping someone out there knows of a registry setting or
other setting that affects this. My only other option is to rebuild from
scratch which I really dread as that is a whole day or two shot rebuilding my
PC. At that point it is probably better to buy a new one and strip this one
down to just use for file serving and back-up;-)

I hope it does not come to that and someone can tell me why this is happening.

Regards,

Robert
