I receive a page can not be displayed error for all web sites.
I am able to connect with netscape.
i reinstalled xp,reinstalled all updates and reinstalled
ie6.0sp1
after downloading updates i have a customized version of ie.
i have gone in the registry and changed the data value to
allow a reinstall of ie6.0sp1 but still receive the samee error

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
