Removing and reinstalling IE often simply exaggerates the problem. Further,
this issue is not being caused by an corruption in IE. This is site
specific and is either a problem at the site that may only be effecting a
few based on problems with navigation from the users point of presence or
some other traffic problem between point "a" and point "b."
IE is fully integrated into he OS, hence, you cannot remove it in the sense
you once could. There are instructions for such a procedure but I never
recommend it as I've rarely seen anything but further disaster and as I
said, even if you could do it, that is not the issue here.
If clearing the cache as I outlined didn't resolve the problem, you need to
check security options in your firewall and antivirus, selectively turning
them off, one at a time to see if they are blocking access. If you have any
popup blocking, ad blocking or cookie blocking software one of those might
be the cause.
While there is a listing of Internet Explorer in Add/Remove Programs in
Control Panel, it only removes the shortcut and not IE so that won't work
either. Nonetheless, if you consider yourself lost now, if you attempt to
remove IE using the instructions in the knowledge base, you are likely to
hose your setup; would you be any less lost then?
