IE6.0 doesn't complete a download

Suddenly (it once worked) I cannot download through IE.
It appears to be downloading but just keeps going forever
with no time left showing and never stops!!
Also, I go to check updates for office 2003 and everytime
it connects to the msn site, it gives me an update but
suddenly shows an error and has to shut doen!!
I have cleaned out my cookies, cache, temp files, etc.
Anyone have a thought? Thanks.

If no joy, post back here with the details on the error message you've
mentioned.
