This is an odd one!
WindowsXP with Service Pack 1 and all updates installed.
My copy of Internet Explorer appears to be corrupted. It
was originally IE5.0 updated by patch to IE6.0.
I was advised by my ISP that I should use Windows
Explorer for connection as IE must be corrupted. I
deleted the update patch with Add/Remove programs and
immediately tried to reinstall the patch. The reinstall
did not complete and the program did not reappear in
Add/Remove.
My only alternative was to Restore from a prior restore
point, which I did, but although the IE6 update appears
in Add/Remove I cannot delete it.
The odd thing is that IE6 still appears to work and is no
different in operation to how it worked before I started
playing about with it.
I'm just worried that I may be storing up trouble. If
anybody has any ideas, I would welcome them.
