For some reason, starting a few days agowhen I click on a
link that is designed to open a child window (a "pop-up"
as opposed to replace the contents of the current
window), no window appears. The title bar of IE main
window just flashes briefly. I don't have any idea what
setting got changed but it is very frustrating. I even
have to post this from another computer since I cannot
get the new post window to appear on my home computer.

I can copy the shortcut of the link, paste it in the
address bar and have the new page come up in the current
window, but I cannot get a "pop-up" window to appear.

Any ideas?? Thank you for your help and Happy New Year.

Try This:

Click [start] [run]
Type: regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll [press enter]
regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll [press enter]
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll [press enter]

Restart Windows
Open IE click [tools][internet options][programs][reset
web settings]

Thank you. That works fine!
