IE6.0 and MSN Instant Messenger 6.2

Each and every time I log into ANY Microsoft newsgroup, the first thing that
happens is that MSN IM immediately logs me out and attempts to log back in.
This login usually fails and I cannot log in until I leave the newsgroup.
Anyone have a clue as to what is happening? Is it something to do with my
Passport?

Yes. You've apparently registered to use the online newsgroups using a
different Passport than the one in which you're currently logged into. Try
signing out of Passport before going to the newsgroups.

Hmmmm. That's strange. Both my IM and Newsgroups Passport use the exact
same email address and password. Where do I go from here?
