IE5 causes error when any link selected

I have a Win95 system using IE5 and I recently downloaded a program
from my service provider to setup a mail account for outlook express.
After running the mail setup program something has caused IE5 to
generate an error of "This program has performed an illegal operation
and will be shut down". This happens after IE5 is running and I get to
my ISP's homepage. The mail program changed my homepage to the ISP's
page and that's all I can get now. If I type in another address, or
click on a link, the error occurs and IE5 terminates. So, it's
basically useless now. I tried reinstalling IE5 and repalcing all the
IE5 files but the same problem persists. Looking at the details of the
error, I see a general protection fault in module VGA.DRV at some
address. Unfortunately, the (888) ISP support number doesn't work from
my location, so I can't speak with support people, and they don't
answer email.

Any ideas how to fix this thing, or should I just get another service
provider? It's a cheap $9.95 dialup service from Coppernet.net.

Is the ISP-provided application supported in Win95/IE5?

(Posting an IE5-specific question to an IE6-specific newsgroup is not a good
idea. You may be offered inaccurate, possibly dangerous advice.)

I don't know if it is supported or not, but it runs. I found some more
information. IE5 works fine in a minimized window, it's only when it's
in the full screen mode that the error occurs. So, I can still use it,
just hard to read in the little window.

I'll try the other newsgroup.
Thanks,

Don't bother: I'm crossposting my reply to both of 'em. <w> (I forgot one.)

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.

I don't mean your email address, I mean what support address have you used.
