Hello,

I was wondering if you do not put Internet Explorer in your image for XPe
what functionality you lose the customer wants Firefox instead. I know the
device manager does not work and automatic updates but is there anything
else?

Device manager? I never knew it really requires IE. MSXML - yes (through MMC console) but not IE.

Automatic Updates (WU?) would not properly work on XPe regardless if IE is there or not.
