Live Messenger lets me know today (Oct. 9 2006) there's a new version. Do I
want to install? I must be naive, I say OK. Since then, IE, to which Live
Messenger added some search toolbar, refuses to load. Message is:
iexplore.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x73528315" referenced
memory at "0x035a2088". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate
the program.
There's a second window with the same kind of crap.
I'm using FireFox, which works flawlessly, to report this IE error. Anybody
else see the humour here?
I'm posting this mainly to warn people. However, if you know what's wrong,
I'd like to find out. I know I can always re-install the beast. I simply find
this very aggravating.

Hi Taoworld,

Had some problems with the live toolbar myself after installing a service
pack for another unrelated program.
To fix the problem disable the live toolbar and its satelite BHO from the
Add-on manager in Internet Options (Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet
Options - Programs tab - Manage Add-ons.
There should be 2 entries for the toolbar - one for the toolbar itself and
one for its satelite BHO. You have to disable both. The satelite BHO is the
one that is a hook between live messenger and IE.

Regards.

Thanks Rob ^_^. I kept your instructions (I would have had NO clue!) but
finally went for IE7 Beta.
