Why would IE show pages on a message board that are days old and not
updated. The same website has updated pages when viewed from another
computer. We've deleted cookies and history. We also set the internet
options to look for new versions of pages on each visit. This is IE6
running on Windows XP Home SP2.

On the menu: Click Tools -> Internet Options -> "General" tab. Click
"Settings" button. Which radio button is selected under: "Check for
newer versions of web pages"? This may be the problem.

As I stated originally - Is is now set to look for new versions on every
visit. It was originally set to automatic when this problem began so it was
changed to this setting to force updating the pages on each visit. It still
didn't help.

I understand what you originally posted. Are the settings still set? IE
has always been buggy. Eliminate each possibility systematically.

Does the site require Java, ActiveX, scripting, and/or cookies to be on?
These are all things that can cause a site to not appear normally. Try
comparing the 'known to be working PC's' settings (e.g., scripting,
activex, etc.), with the settings on your PC.

There is also the possibility that the web site is experiencing problems
too. If you have "Disable script debugging" turn off, and "Display a
notification about every script error" turn on, you may see any errors
for the web site. Without knowing the web site's URL its' difficult to
know.

BTW: you can force IE to 'reload' a page by holding down the shift key
and clicking the refresh button on the toolbar.
