I haven't loaded any new programs this week, but all of a sudden my IE won't
show on my desktop. It shows on my toolbar, but won't show on my desktop.
I update my virus program and Windows XP every day and ran both a virus and
spyware check today with no change. I can access it through my ISP, AOL,
but not as a standalone window. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Using W2003 at the moment but XP may be the same or similar. Right click on
desktop and hit poperties.

On the property sheet hit desktop tab then customize desktop

There should be checkboxes there, one of which is for IE on desktop. See if
that's any use to you? Sorry if W2003 is different scheme, best I can do for
quick reply, but if it's not quite the same someone will no doubt tell us.

I knew I wasn't being clear, but I don't know how to describe this. The
program itself won't open a window on my desktop. It shows as an open
program on my toolbar, but I can't access the window itself. I can't even
get to the IE toolbar to verify which version I have. I hope that helps
explain things a little better. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling
the program through Windows, but it didn't work either. Thanks for helping.

Hi,
Possible fixes:
1. When you have an IE window minimized to a button on the taskbar,
right-click the button and choose "Restore" then right-click a blank area of
the taskbar and choose "Cascade."

2. When you right-click the button on the taskbar, there are options for
"size"
and "move" right? Experiment with Size first, using the arrow keys on the
keyboard. Then try the Move option with the arrow keys. Your window is
probably very small, maybe just a few pixels, and might even be off the
screen. Once you can see it, drag it out to the desired size and make it the
last IE window you close.

Hope this helps,
Don

I did experiment with "Restore" and "Size" a little at first, but apparently
I didn't try hard enough. I have an Nvidia video card that allows me to put
a second screen on the TV and I tried to see if the window was going to the
TV display, but the Nvidia commands weren't working. However, using "Move"
brought it back over. Now I just have to figure out how I did it in the
first place. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.
