IE won't open

I have having serious problems with IE. I click the link to
run the program and nothing happens. I know that it opens a
new proccess but then closes less than a second later. A
window will not pop up. If I open Windows Explorer, and
type in the address bar, then it still doesn't connect to
any websites. Many people are getting error messages when
they try to open IE, but I don't get any. I've tried
repairing, uninstalling, and installing, but it still does
not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to open.

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html It's been
the most helpful with this problem. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it
could be downloaded from another machine onto a floppy disk.

You may need to follow up with Ad-aware and/or Spybot S&D. Both programs
should be updated after installation- before use.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

Ok. I disabled third party extensions. Still didn't open. I
ran Spybot and it didn't detect anything. I ran Adawre and
it found a few files but would not delete them. So I
manually delted them. Still didn't open. I ran CWShredder,
found nothing. I then reenabled 3rd party extensions and it
still doesn't open. This is really irking me becasue all of
these tricks aren't working for me. Maybe I should just
format my drive and start all over again. If anyone else
has any suggestions, please let me know.
 
What ways have you tried to open Internet Explorer? Are you selecting an icon from your desktop? from the programs list? system tray? Have you tried to go to start, then run then type iexplorer.exe and seeing what happens?
 
I've tried all of those ways. Nothing seems to work. They
all end up in the same result, the process iexplore.exe
opening then closing. For some strange reason, I have a
feeling that it may never work until I format.... I dunno.
