I reformatted my hard and reloaded IE v 6.0. I cannot get
any .pdf files to open automatically like before. I am
sure there is a way to set this up correctly. Can anyone
help? Thanks.

Hi Tamara,

Do you mean PDF files are not opened, not displayed?

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed?

Kind regards

Tamara,

Hans Le Roy is correct. You must have a copy of Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed on your computer before IE 6.0
will display PDF files properly.

You may download the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Acrobat
Website. Please note: the current Acrobat Reader is
version 6.0 - I wouldn't suggest loading a version lower
than 5.1. Acrobat Reader 3.0 - 4.x are no longer adequate
for proper web browsing. So please make sure you install
a newer version that will not introduce display errors for
fonts and color schemes.

GO TO:
Version 6.0
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/alternate.html#60eng

Version 5.1
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/alternate.html#51eng

Save the file(s) to your download directory.

During the download process, make sure to remove the check
mark from "Close this dialog when download completes." You
will then be able to "Open Folder" after the download
completes, and start the install process by double
clicking on the downloaded file.
