First of all, don't open or even preview any e-mail that looks suspicious.
Microsoft will not send you e-mails with an attachment. It's the newest
wave of the worm W32.Swen.A@mm. Delete it.
Second, I've had the same problems while downloading. All the places where
there would be ads,
always had a message "action cancelled". A poster named Mike Burgess gave
me excellent advise.
This is how it went. First some security programs will install a file into
your C:\windows named files named hosts.
This is a black-list of sites to block, this is normally good to avoid
spyware and sometimes viruses.
un fortunately if certain sites are blocked you won't be able to download.
I then went to one of the sites where I couldn't download (Pogo.com) and
where I saw a "action cancelled" I right clicked, checked properties, and
saw the site where it originated from (ad.doubleclick.com). I then backed
up and opened the "host" file with my note pad and the site was listed.
I then erased the site, saved and refreshed my IE and Walla, just like
magic, I could download. I tried this with every site I've had
problems with and fixed each and every one. Hope this helps. If it doesn't
