Is it possible to update the version of IE in my PDA? It is named Pocket
Internet Explorer. PDA OS is Windows Mobile 2003 SE. This browser does not
do Javascript, and it has other severe deficiencies.

It should do scripting - as you can see here by the comparison chart with
desktop IE:

However, your provider may have disabled it for security reasons (?). I
would check with the manufacturer of your device for any possible
upgrades/changes. Sorry, I'm not that familiar with that version of IE.

You can go here for possible help from Windows Mobile communities or
newsgroups:

Unfortunately, no, it does not. The mobile community is one of orphans. My
PDA came from Verizon, but it is really made by HTC (??). In the trade, the
generic device is known as "Blue Angel". Verizon has no support. The forum
for Blue Angel is concerned with hacking code from other PDA models. There
is a 3PP browser that does do JS (I have it), but I was curious about IE.
The desktop analog to the mobile world would be if you could get OS upgrades
only from Dell, and if they chose to abandon your model, well, too bad. I
hope MS will make a stronger stand in this area.
