Hi Folks,
I got a windows XP machine and the IE window always stays in the background,
unless I minimize the other open windows running on the desktop. I dont think
that is the standard behaviour for IE.

I have Symantec Corporate Edition and Microsoft AntiSpyware both running on
this machine.

Regards,
Abhi

I have seen this problem with Office. I haven't found a fix for it yet, but
have found if I right-click the application in the taskbar, it brings it
forward without minimizing everything else.

Hi,
Try the "Undo" VBS file at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 66 far right side.

The explanaition: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=886217

If unsuccessful with that, I would disable (as a test) third-party security,
privacy, ad-blocking, tweaking programs, especially those installed or
updated very recently. One of them may be causing this.

I don't think that a firewall will be causing this, but turn on the Windows
Firewall (Control Panel> Windows Firewall) before disabling a third-party
firewall.

Hope this helps,
