Dave

I just started having a problem with IE 6 that I can't figure out. Before
when I had an IE window open, clicked on something that opened a new browser
window, the original window would stay open too. Now as soon as the new
window opens, the original window closes.

Any suggestions?

Hi Dave :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using so I can only guess,
but, here are a few things you might try:

Go to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Also, this can be caused by erd party add-ons, such as Google toolbar, MSN
toolbar, a firewall, other pop-up blockers, etc. If you have any of these
disable them and see if it helps. If you have Yahoo Companion, a very common
cause, uninstall it.

If you don't have any of these type of programs check the information here:

Hope this helps.

Jan,

I am using Windows XP. I went thru your suggestions and the last one did
it - Yahoo Companion. I didn't think I had it but looked in Control Panel>
Add and Remove Programs and it was there. I uninstalled it and the problem
was cleared. The only thing I can think of is that Nero 7 might have added
it. I notice that their new version and it's updates try to sneak it in
each time. Thanks for the help.

Dave
