I can not get IE to load under PRE- RC1- it worked fine wuth Beta 2.

It appears to be in the setup area. I am using static IP addresses. I
changed dynamic to staitc and entered my static ip and dns addresses. Network
can be viewed fine.

But Internet setup is trying to install a Broadband Dial-up connection, I
think-- asking for User ID And Password. I have Comcast and this is not
necessary for cable access. I get the standard Page not Found.

Sorryy--I ramble a bit here- Anyone else having issues with getting IE 7
working under a static IP/DNS setup?

Thanks for replying Will-

After considerable playing with Network settings, I finally got IE to load.

I am not exactly sure what I did-- but my guess is that turning off the
power momentarily to both router and cable modem did the trick. In the
process I changed settings from static to dynamic but that did not help
things.

What was confusing to me was that VISTA never told me that my LAN connection
was never found. Apparently VISTA looks for a LAN, and if one is not found,
immediately assumes you need to establish a dial-up connection. It was trying
to establish a Broadband WAN (asking for User ID and Password)- and I was not
familiar enough with the terminology top realize that VISTA was going down
the wrong path- and that I needed to do something to fix my LAN situation.
