IE will not open homepage

When opened, IE 6 page says Page Cannot Be Displayed. It doesn't matter what
I do, IE refuses to respond. Its like I'm not connected to the internet. Does
anyone know whats going on?

First eliminate any spyware.

I tried this fix, too. Mine shows an internet connection but no page
displays. I have cleaned off spyware, run Winsockfix, tried netsh winsock
reset and still no pages will display. Any other ideas?

I went to HijackThis--how do I create the log? Is it just a copy of the
processes list?

Have tested it some more--My PC will connect through wireless and
dialup--won't display pages from either or connect through the ethernet
connection.

If you used the top option to scan and save a log, it created HijackThis,log
in the same directory as the executable. Register here:
