I used a 3 month subscription to Ancestry.co.uk about a year ago after
using the free stuff to search for my roots.

I've just tried to have a look again and I get a 'done' message in the
bottom left but only a blank page.

I've tried the lot, www, http, just ancestry.co.uk, none work, I have
the same problem with ancestry.com.

I'm totally at a loss as it also happens with Firefox, anyone got any
ideas what's happening?

Thanks in advance.

Four things to try:

1. Clear your TIF and History completely:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

2. Clear your Cookies folder.

3. Check your Hosts file as per this article:
Problems Using Internet Explorer with Incorrect Hosts File
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q219843

More info on the Hosts file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm

4. Got to a Command prompt (Start...Programs...Accessories) and type in:

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit Enter.

If no joy, try this: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
Or http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=24&id=31&artlang=en
