I currently have three computers in my home that are
networked on a wireless network system. Two operate on a
Windows 98SE platform and the third operates on a Windows
XP platform. I have the same problem with two of the
computers (one XP and one 98SE), everytime I try to launch
my IE explorer I get the same error message, "Windows has
encountered a problem and must shut down". I can not even
open my explorer on the XP so I can copy or delete files
from my hard drive. I can not run media player from
either of the affected computers. I have scanned my
computers for virus and everything is clean. Any ideas.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
