Hi jpkern :-)

better. but i do any help?

Try the following and see if it helps:

To find your version of IE:

Copy/paste the following line into an IE Address Bar, click on GO, then
copy/paste the results into your reply:

javascript:navigator.appMinorVersion

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

after doing what you said the page came up and it says sp1... and then about six # starting with Q

Hi jpkern :-)

Good, that means you have IE Sp1. You have run the update for IE at some
point and not have SP1. :-)

To be sure what you have do the following:

Download and install the free program, which will analyze your system and
provide a report of all that you have installed. All current updates will
have a green check beside them.

Belarc: Free
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

You can also go to the Windows Update website have in run a scan for
updates, and then do a history check to see what has been properly installed
and when.

Once you have confirmed which version you have for sure, then you can
contact McAfee and have them look into the problem from their end.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

thanks for the help. the Belarc Advisor is great. I knew i had 6.0 and the
sp1 now i know which hotfixes failed. it was so much easier than going back
through install history. After i reinstall the hotfixes (only 3) i guess i'll
have to battle with McAfee....The fight continues............ thanks again

You're very welcome! Yes, Belarc is a niffty little program, and a big
help. Glad to hear you have finally got your versions aligned and wish you
good luck with McAfee.

Thank you for posting back and letting us know how things worked out for
you, and for the benefit of other readers who may have a similar problem.
:-)

Good luck!
