IE ver 6 quits abruptly accessing certain sites

This problem is restricted to only a certain win2k, sp3 PC
I was originally NT 4.0 sp6a, had the same problem on
NT. Upgraded to win 2k, same problem. After entering the
URL eg www.tse.com, after pressing enter, the IE
application exits and dissappears.
 
Run AVP online
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/

Uninstall I.E. back to original
hope you archived.
Then reload 6.0.2800.1108
IE6SP1 with a couple hotpatches

In W2K run from NT Command line
SFC /SCANNOW
May as well run
CHKDSK /F/R
(about 30 minutes)

Install Recovery Console

That's a good start.
