IE unresponsive on exit

I have had this problem for some time. Basically, whenever I close IE
6.0, it often will hang and give me the unresponsive dialog box and
ask me if I want to send a note to Microsoft (they must have about 200
from me). Now, I run XP Pro, I still have it after installing service
pack 2. I have run Norton AV religiously (no evidence ever of a
virus) and recently I bought and ran Spy Sweeper. It found a few
traces, cookies, etc. I removed all of them and still it happens.

This happens about 65% of the time and just makes for a minor
annoyance. Any other suggestions? I have considered reinstalling IE
6.0 but I hear that it is not straight forward and I would rather not
have reinstal my op system if it crashes.

Thanks,

Tim

Get Process Explorer or EndItAll. Both show everything running on your
computer and you can click on IE and hit the kill button. They can also help
when you get a freeze by killing the frozen app. Both of those are free. I
think ProcessExplorer works a little better. They can also kill everything
at once like when you want to run an av scan or scandisk.
