I have IE 6. I click on the IE icon on the desktop and I am taken to my
homepage. Anyways, inevitably several minutes later no matter what site I am
at the screen switches to like a search site. Not like Yahoo or Google but
like a page with different hyperlinked items. You cant quit this page, it is
basically stuck on that page and you have to do contral alt delete to get rid
of it. After doing that it doesnt happen again. It just happens on the
first time that I sign on. So basically if I turn off my computer for awhile
and then come back to it and turn it back on, thats when the IE thing
happens. It doesnt constantly do this though, after the first sign on I am
fine until I sign off again and come back. I have run several virus scans
and their is no signs of viruses. Whats up?

Hi,
This is being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite)
The anti-virus programs remove some of these but there are more specialized
programs.
Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Hope this helps,
