IE too slow

One of the reasons we switched from dial-up to DSL was for the speed. We've got the speed, and two computers networked together. When I go on to IE on one my ISP home page comes up immediately. On the other one it takes a long time for the home page as well as any other web page to come up. I have talked to my IS provider - no problem there. I don't have a virus as I have checked and I've talked w/the Dell techs who think I may have a worm and need to reformat my hard drive. I don't want to do this. Anyone have any other ideas on my problem. When we first went on to DSL it worked fine. I downloaded Netscape and it works fine so I know it's a problem w/IE. Thanks.

Mag,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

Yep, see Mikes post. That behaviour is very typical of adware/spyware and
the like. It could also be a worm or virus as well so make sure you run a
virus scan with the latest updates (signature files or whatever they may be
called) installed. Also, if you have any toolbars in IE they could also be
causing problems (especially things like Hotbar - which is spyware as well)
so uninstall them.

I've tried everything you suggested, so no luck. A few of the problems found during SpyBot scan I didn't fix because they all were in Key Registry and that scares me because I don't know enought about it, and SpyBot didn't automatically check them like they did some others. Can I uninstall Internet Explorer? Will this fix my problem? I'm going crazy with the slowness of this. If my ISP used Netscape browser I would forget all about IE. Any other suggestions

Uninstalling and re-installing won't fix it.
You can use Netscape whether your ISP supports it or not. If they say they
don't support it that just means they won't help you with it, not that it
won't work.

BTW, it looks like you might be using HotBar. I'd get rid of it if you are.

Mag,
You can post your questions about SpyBot's results at their Support Forum:
