IE takes 3-4 min. to connect to my braod band internet acc. after xpsp2

Since I installed xp-sp2 it takes about 3 to 4 min. before ie6 will access
my road runner acc.
This only happens when I first boot up or reboot.

Firefox does not have the same delay.

It seems like windows is checking security settings before connecting
but it should not take this long.

I have run xp-sp2 on three computers and all have the same time delay.

Can this be fixed, it didn't have this problem before xp-sp2

I think you posted this earlier and probably didn't get any responses? The
more specific you can be about your problem...include all the details as too
much is better than not enough, the better the answers you receive can
specifically help you.

If you're smart enough to have Firefox as a second browser, you should be
smart enough to sit back and see what happens when Microsoft issues a giant
update like SP2 for XP, and realize that it's so huge there is bound to be
bugs. Over half the problem posts in this group are due to after installing
SP2. Next time Microsoft cries wolf, wait until you see the wolf and are
sure by your own senses that it is in fact a wolf. Quite often when it comes
to computers, newer doesn't mean better.
