I'd say the memory is buggered. I would get some more memory or if its new get it replaced by the manufacturer*.

* Sorry for my bad spelling dyslexic you know.

How many Dimm slots do you have for the memory? & how many sticks of memory are you trying to put in?
Is the RAM supported by the motherboard (is it the right type)?
Start with one stick in the slot closest to the CPU, because some motherboards won't tolerate having all the Dimm slots full or both dual channels full (ones that are the same colour).

Or as Sneblot says the RAM could of had it.

Good point when it comes down to what type of ram is supported is the ram DDR or DDR2??
