We are small company with 3 (XP-Pro Sp2) computers connected by a simple
network. We are using NetGear FWG114P router and we're connected to the
Internet with a DSL Modem.
Recently, I've noticed that one of the computers is having a problem, while
loading a web page, the computers stops communicating with the Internet, the
download freezes and the computer can no longer access any internet sites
but it can still access the other network computers.
It appears that certain web sites can cause this failure consistently while
others will load just fine but the weird thing is, all the other computers
on the network can access these web sites with no problems.
The only fix that I have found is resetting the router by turning it off and
then on again. Then all starts working again until one of the troublesome
web sites is accessed again..
I have run SpyBot and Ad-Aware and have scanned the suspect system for
viruses, deleted the TIF and History and installed a new NIC. When I
connect my laptop up to the same cable, I do not see the problem on my
laptop and I can load any web page with no problems so I'm sure the cabling
and the rest of the network is OK.
Any suggestions would be most helpful
