MY IE stopped working after doing a Norton Internet Security 2006
uninstall/install. Its been flaky for some time. Here are symptoms:
MS Outlook doesn't send/recieve messages.
IE Can't find home page or any other page. Firefox works fine for same
addresses.
Worked with tech support for ISP where I am. Saw connections working but not
with IE. Said a DLL became corrupted (doesn't know which) but anything that
is related to IE stopped working (MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, AIM)

What happened? My Norton after install scanned clean. No virus, etc.
I'm on travel, don't have access to CD's for reinstall but Norton, Office.
This also makes Norton run on boot but can't bring up Scan Screen, Live
Updates etc.

Thank you for your response. I've bookmarked the DNS errors URL. The Windows
Firewall/disable...worked to getting IE back. Now I'll try to continue with
the preliminary issue.

Greatly appreciated.

Hi,
As a test, turn on the Windows Firewall (from Control Panel or Security
Center) and disable NIS 2006.

IE- Can't display- DNS Errors: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/16.html
