Machine configuration
Windows ME
IE 6.0.2800.1106
Office 2000 SR1

Problem:
After installing Office 2k, "Typical" installation, IE
has stopped working.

Attempted solutions:
We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling TCP/IP.
We've tried removing Winsock and Winsock 2 from the
registry and removing the Windows "Communications"
software in the Windows Setup under Add/Remove Programs.
We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network
card ("Realtek" brand card according to Windows) and
still nothing, just the DNS error page stating it can't
open the page.
We've tried installing Norton Systemworks 2004 to try to
identify any registry problems that might account for it,
however it bails out with an unspecified generic error.

What started as a quick favor for a friend has turned
into a 50-hour issue (seriously)! PLEASE anyone with any
thoughts that might help get me out of this mess?
:-)

Thanks,
Scott

A better desciption of "stpped working" would help.
