IE startup problem

Greetings!

When starting up PC, the IE Connect box pops up
continually, wanting to know if I want to connect to
Internet. I've checked all startup menus and Settings
boxes I can find with no luck. Pushing Cancel button
eventually gets rid of box, but it takes ages.

All software is original and I don't download all that
much, except email. Can anyone help?
